When Míša Jílková yells “moment,” it marks a moment of relief, joy, or dramatically ecstatic pleasure for all marginalized bodies still denied a voice under the weight of the heteropatriarchy. The Moment poster employs a literal appropriation of the visual language used by John McNaughton, the court painter of the MAGA movement. The female body that McNaughton anonymizes in his original work Take a Stand—in order to romanticize far-right rhetoric—is replaced in Moment by a specific woman with clearly defined views and intentions. The SIG 556 assault rifle serves as a somber reminder that the fight for queer rights is far from over.
